(Long post for my sake so I don't forget when I finally make him a baby book!)

Honestly, I haven't been too concerned with potty training Beckett. Bradley, of course, wants him potty trained before Baby Sister gets here in October but I have always heard to just wait until they show signs they are ready. We bought a baseball potty and put it across from our toilet. He started sitting on it before bath but didn't seem to care or understand what he was doing. Over the last week Beckett has told me more that he wanted to potty but usually just when I was...It's been a little annoying seeing as he wants to be naked when he sits on it and he never does anything in it. HOWEVER, today was different. He told me he wanted to potty and since I was going to change his clothes anyway I let him get naked. I wasn't paying much attentions since nothing ever has happened. He chose to straddle the toilet this particular time and was grunting. I looked down and saw drops! We yelled for Bradley and had a clapping session. So as exciting as that was imagine my surprise when he climbed out of the bathtub tonight and pooped. (Half in the potty and then half on the floor when he started walking around.) I was actually multitasking and talking on the phone so again not paying attention when this all started. (Hmmm...maybe that's why he's doing it!) After we flushed that he used it again to potty! So from zero to three times in one day. I think I figured out he likes the clean up part because I let him help rinse it out but hey if that works!

Could be a month before it happens again but we had cookies tonight to celebrate!!!!

Over Memorial Day my cousin Julianne brought her two boys down from Iowa. Aidan, Ethan and Beckett LOVED playing with them and Cameron.

The two pictures below are a little ironic. We use the phrase "Monkey see, monkey do" a lot around here. Usually Beckett is doing whatever someone else is doing. However, the big kids got bored after dinner and started playing Follow the Leader. Guess who got to be the leader!
Beckett had so much fun. I don't think he quite understood what was going on but he loved every minute of it!

We had a very fun and busy Christmas! We spent Christmas Eve at Bebe and Pops with Granny, the Gilmore's and the Coates. After doing presents at our house Christmas morning we went back to open presents with Bebe and Pops and the Gilmores and ate Christmas lunch. Then we drove to Hot Springs and did Christmas with BamBam and Poppy, the Kings, Foo Foo and Jo Jo, Aunt Mel and Ron, the Coverts, and the Tuckers. It was wild and crazy and Beckett didn't want to miss a thing! This Christmas will go down and the Christmas all we did was play games! From Farkle, to ping pong, to Big Twos, to Nertz, to Wii, to Smart***, WE PLAYED IT ALL!!!! Here are a few pictures I had.

We went a few weekends ago to Bikes, Blues, and BBQ in Fayetteville. Sarah, Travis, and Taylor let us stay with them for the weekend and we had so much fun! Beckett and Taylor love watching all the bikes on Dickson and their moms and dads enjoy eating all the food. This was our second year to go so, hopefully, we can make it a tradition!

We had a few couples over to watch the game on Saturday and had a blast! We hardly missed being in Fayetteville at all! But watching football sure is different with the little people running around. However, the guys didn't seem to have any trouble!

Ok, so probably only Michele and I will find that title funny but I just couldn't resist. The beginning of August my family went to Fort Morgan and it was Aidan and Ethan's first time at the beach. They were so cute and loved crab hunting at night. Michele and I got so tickled because Ethan would belt out "Crab hole, Crab hole, I found a crab hole" whenever he found one!

Well Beckett's almost 14 months so I should probably post his 12 month stats so I don't forget them and so I have some sort of record of them.

1. Weight: 21 lbs (20%)

2. Height 34 inches (81%)

3. 8 teeth

4. Lover of any type of carbs

5. Been know to sleep until 9:30 or 10:oo am (wish that would last...)

6. Can't get enough of the outside

7. Has the toughest feet- walks on rocks!

8. Is either laughing or whining

9. Loves to wrestle on the floor

10. Talks a lot but we still don't understand much of what he says

11. Can give open mouth kisses but they are pretty hard to come by

12. Still on the move 10 hours a day...The rest of the time he's asleep!

We took Beckett on his first trip to the beach in the middle of July with Bradley's side of the family. We had so much fun we talked my family into going back Wednesday for a few days! (Glad he likes the sand and water because his parents sure do!) Here are some pictures from the first trip. These are just the ones we took with out camera so I know Sarah's will be better.

I guess only Pops follows directions about looking at the camera...

Bradley is out of his office after studying constantly for the last 5 weeks and I get my husband back! We are getting ready to spend time at the lake and then going to Florida soon. The week we owned a motorcycle

Last Wednesday we drove to Batesville in the middle of a major thunderstorm to pick up the motorcycle that we won from the tickets we bought at Kevin and Lori's reception. (The tickets were a fundraiser for John 3:16. Check it out! http://www.john316spiritualbootcamp.com/) I have to admit I was pretty impressed with "my" motorcycle/dirt bike, however, we WILL be selling it soon so if you know someone looking for one let me know! Bradley thinks we should keep it so I can save on gas money and drive it to school! But where would I put Beckett????

1. Don't want to take 4 summer school classes
2. Don't want to have to redo our dining room
(After taking down two layers of wallpaper, refinishing the wall, priming it twice, painting it red with 4 coats it peeled off) NOW he's had to peel off the red paint with the huge help of my mom, mud the wall, tape it off and "reprime" so that the paint people can come look...ALL while trying to study for all the quizzes and tests he has...

The cutest thing was that he's been so busy and I think Beckett's missed him because everytime he got a chance he was trying to get in the room with him. I finally just put him in the doorway so he could watch.

1:30-2:30 Entertain Beckett

2:30-4:30 Beckett naps and I sit on floor and help Bradley study for a test while he paints

5:00 - 5:30 Cook dinner

5:30-6:00 Eat dinner

6:00-7:00 Back to painting trim

7:00 - 7:30 Give Beckett a second bath and talk to sister-in-law

Beckett is 11 months old! And...he's walking! I am making it official today. He's been taking quite a few steps but as of today he can stop, go, turn, get up from the ground and walk without help! I have video on my phone but I am having trouble uploading it. I will work on it soon!

Easter

Beckett spent his first Easter in Hot Springs. We hunted eggs in between rain showers but Beckett, Aidan and Ethan didn't seem to let that get in the way of the fun. After hunting we went to church in the middle of a downpour and then had Easter lunch at Bam Bam's and Poppy's. Poppy smoked a ham on his beloved Green Egg and Beckett feasted on his current favorite food green beans. Holidays are sure fun with babies!

Aunt Flash took Beckett's picture a couple of weeks ago. We were really surprised how good he was for the "shoot." I set him in the grass and he started posing. Poor baby! You would have thought he was getting his ear cut off. As you can tell Beckett didn't like having his hair cut for the first time. I got mine done over Spring Break and BamBam brought him in for a super quick trim because it was driving me crazy hanging over his ears. He's quite dramatic these days!

Beckett's daddy LOVES to eat at Cracker Barrel so whenever we are on a road trip we have to eat at least one meal there. On the way home from our trip to see Cousin Taylor we stopped and Beckett got to sit like a big boy at the table. He was so happy and loved eating green beans like mom! So I see many more trips to Cracker Barrel in my future...

WORST PHOTO SHOOT in 9 months!

Taking Beckett's picture sure is a lot harder than it use to be! Here's what he's up to these days:

-speed crawls everywhere

-pulls up on anything he can

-crawls up stairs at Bebe and Pops

-if I start the bath water and put him down in the kitchen he's there before I am

-survived his first ear infection (I did the new mom thing and we waited 4 1/2 hours at the Pediatric Care Center at Baptist on the night of the season finale of the Bachelor to find that out!)

-hate to admit it but he says dadadada and NO mama yet!

-eats some foods like banana's, crackers, and mashed potatoes while making awful faces

-weighs 19.5lbs

-loves outside and chasing Ms. Nancy's cats

-gives a cheesy grin when told "no" or "stop"

-looks just like Bradley at this age (exactly same hair)

Yipee! Over a month ago my computer crashed and Bradley was able to fix it this weekend. Anyways, we had a great weekend with Sarah, Taylor, Travis, Bebe and Pops. Beckett and Taylor did lots of playing! They are going to be great friends one day! Does anyone know where we can buy an infant helmet? Seriously, I am thinking a minature baseball helmet is what we need. Last night when I put Beckett to be he had:

-fallen and hit his head on a tile floor

-fallen into a metal coffee table leg

-hit is head on the wall

All while someone was watching him! Lately, he is balancing on his knees and looks stable and then topples over.

Beckett loves the balloon BamBam bought him. For Valentines Beckett had a date with his BamBam. They ran errands and he got to see his Nonee while Bradley and I went to the races.

I can't believe I left my baby for 6 days! Bradley and I joined two couple friends for our annual New Year's Eve trip. You know how we are about tradition and since we have gone somewhere the past four years, we couldn't let a baby keep us at home. BUT I had no idea how hard it was! The night before we left I cried and cried! I was ready for a few nights away but six was a little too many for the first time. Beckett was in good hands though with both sets of grandparents. All in all, we ended up having a great time and are thankful that we went.

What Santa looks like on Dec. 26th

Beckett's first Christmas was a very busy one! We spent the weekend before Christmas with Bradley's family. It is so much fun having two babies so close to the same age. We took them to the Capital and let them admire all the beautiful lights. On Monday, Beckett and I went to Hot Springs and hung out with my family. We made Christmas goodies, shopped, and played lots of games. Beckett was very entertained with watching everyone, especially my nephews. On Christmas Eve we went back to Little Rock and went to Granny's church and celebrated with Bradley's family. Then we spent the night at our house and got up early to head back to Bebe and Pop's for Christmas breakfast and the opening of presents. (I bet this is the last year we have to wake him up on Christmas morning!) On the road again...Christmas afternoon we headed to Hot Springs and had Christmas dinner with my family. Santa brought Aidan and Ethan a Wii so the next few days were filled with Mario Cart and a new card game Joanna taught. Christmas 2008 was a blast and having a baby to share things with makes everything so much more special!

So these are a little late getting on here! Beckett was 6 months on December 10th. Lately he has been pushing up on all fours and rocking back and forth. He is eating fruits and vegetables and likes solid food better than his milk now. Also, Bradley was letting him chew on his finger today and he noticed his first tooth has come in. How exciting for us first time parents to fill something rough on his gums!

Beckett and Tucker have the same birthday. Tucker's mom and I say that I waited until 12:09am to have Beckett just so they would have the same birthday.

Last Sunday all the tennis team babies got together to "pose" for a picture for Kim's Christmas card. It was so much fun seeing them all together. Props to any mom that has multiples!

Bradley went to deer camp one last time last weekend so thanks to Carrie and Bebe for entertaining us all weekend. I found out yesterday when it was icy and we didn't go anywhere that Beckett gets bored easily. He likes being out and about running errands and visiting family and friends. I could hardly keep him occupied yesterday. Good thing he likes to nap and now LOVES his jumpy seat. I will try to post some video of him in it because it's too funny. Lori, you will have to help me out with that!

Beckett's a mustard lover like his mom! Just kidding- He just has octopus arms these days and grabs everything in sight to try to put it in his mouth. Also, he loves going to visit his Granny on Tuesday nights. She enjoys watching him do all his tricks for the first time at her house.
We took Beckett to Branson last weekend and he was so good while we shopped. I guess we didn't feed him enough because he's trying to eat Poppy's arm at lunch.

This picture is for Sarah. Whenever I hold Taylor I drop food on her. So no that's not a birthmark on Beckett it's salsa I dropped on him.

Beckett is teething so everything he touches goes into his mouth. (Even Rudolph's glass light bulb nose) Tonight I was holding the remote and he started fussing and reaching for it. I know...normal behavior for a boy but when I gave it to him he pushed on it for a few seconds and then wanted to suck on it! So if anybody has advice out there for things for him to chew on let me know.

Tonight I got back from a tennis lesson and Bradley rushed out the door to a basketball game. I go kiss on Beckett to discover that he has a NASTY diaper. But since I was getting ready to give him his cereal and then a bath I decided to wait on changing his diaper. Like any good mom I was trying to save time and multi task! After I fed him his cereal I took off his diaper and cleaned him up the best I could. He had poop all over his back and cereal all down his front. So I carried him naked from the bedroom to the kitchen and of course on the way to the bathtub he peed all over me. I will blame this all on Bradley for not changing his diaper before he left... It's a good thing he's so cute and was smiling the whole time!

Sarah told me my (Beckett's) blog had become a bore so I thought I would spice things up. Today my mom, Michele and I exercised our freedom of speech right at the capital for the first time. We attended a rally that opposed the passing of Amendment 1. I could get on my soapbox about hatred and some peoples need to feel like they are the judge of others but I think I will let the picture speak for itself...

Wow! Time really flies! I can't believe Beckett's already 5 months old. Lately he's been impossible to change because he wants to roll over. He's also extrememly ticklish too so changing his clothes is quite interesting these days.

We went to play putt putt with Michele, Chris and the boys last weekend. Aidan and Ethan had a blast as did the adults. Ethan invented a new kind of game "Running and Putting." Beckett liked watching and cheering for mom for awhile but by the 12th hole he was sound asleep!

Well...Most of you know that Beckett has a had a hard time sleeping throught the night since about 13 weeks. At 8 weeks he was sleeping through the night and it stopped when I went back to work. Sometimes he was up 6-8 times from 12 a.m to 6 a.m. There were so many nights Bradley and I were both so frustrated. He would go to sleep and then wake up after 10 min. We would repeat this numerous times throughout the night. We just kept being thankful he was happy during the day. Finally after trying everything we could think of and asking advice from numerous people I listened to MommaSchelle (his aunt). She told me he was probably cold and I thought surely that's not it because that's too easy to fix. So after turning off the fan in his room, dressing him in his jammies and a sleepsack and covering his hands, Beckett is on his 5th night of sleeping through the night! Yipee!!!! I keep feeling guilty and asking myself why I didn't figure it out earlier when I was under covers and in flannel pj's when I slept in his room all those nights trying to get him to sleep for a longer than 10 mins at a time. Oh well! Here's a picture from the first morning after. I am sure he is saying "thank goodess that woman figured it out so I can finally get some good sleep!"

Beckett was born on Tuesday June 10, 2009 at 12:09am. It was my last day of work before summer break and it was the day I HAD to make it to so I could have a longer maternity leave. The two nights before I had been unable to sleep and had lots of back pain. I went to school and was pretty miserable but not sure if I wan in labor or not. My principal called Bradley and made a big scene but Bradley quickly came to pick me up and take me to the hospital. They checked me and my water had not broken but I was dialated to a 3 and having contractions. After walking around for an hour they admitted me and the fun began...
